Vacancy Database Administrator (DBA)

This is what you will do

As a DBA, you will be working for clients with large and complex information systems, such as hospitals. You study the structure and check whether the integrity and security are in order. When the customer has a question, you are immediately available and think further.

You will join a serious but friendly team with a high level of knowledge. A team where issues are discussed enthusiastically, and where you can make a nice contribution with your own specialism. You will also work on these tasks:

  • You are proactively engaged in management, performance, security, patching and hardening of database environments at our or customers' sites.

  • You will ensure availability and consistency of databases and authorization of users.

  • You will rotate in the standby arrangement. In this you are supportive and a point of contact for daily management and improvement of data environments.

  • You implement databases and future-proof/scalable enhancements based on an accurate forecast of what is needed in terms of usage. You usually do this remotely from home or office, but occasionally on location.

  • You are the link between the customer and its suppliers in the IT field and have an advisory role to the technology and development department.

  • You work in accordance with established information security guidelines, identify risks in this area and formulate appropriate control measures.

As a DBA, you find every upgrade, cluster or migration equally interesting and do everything you can to find the right solutions for customers. In addition, you have much more to offer:

  • You have at least college level

  • You have done relevant training or obtained certifications for the primary DBMS

  • You have good and broad knowledge of at least one Database Management System. The primary DBMS

  • You have at least basic knowledge of one secondary DBMS

  • You have experience modeling and optimizing databases and can write and improve SQL queries

  • You have experience with complex environments and projects

  • You have experience with DWH environments as an administrator or developer

  • You have basic knowledge of Azure and/or AWS and Windows and/or Linux 

  • You have basic knowledge and experience with IT infrastructure. For example, of network, storage, virtualization and various operating systems

  • You have knowledge and experience with information security risks and measures and confidently propose improvements

  • You effortlessly address clients in English and/or Dutch

  • You talk easily with everyone, whether it is your colleague, the client or his supplier

  • You handle data responsibly
